Tanya Hutchens Founded Gold Star Legal Services in 1992 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Tanya Hutchens spent over 12 years representing the public in matters concerning landlord and tenant board, small claims, traffic incidents, and family court. As President and Paralegal at Gold Star Legal Services, Tanya Hutchens was responsible for the public as their legal representative and complying with the rules of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Certified by the Canadian Paralegal Association as a PLL (Paralegal Litigator,) Tanya Hutchens conducted over 1,000 landlord and tenant trials where she effectively represented both tenants and landlords. Hutchens carried out thousands of more trials before Small Claims Court, Traffic Court, and Family Court.

Throughout her tenure with Gold Star Legal Services, Tanya Hutchens put her many years of paralegal expertise to work in a multitude of vital matters. Tanya Hutchens represented women’s shelters and their occupants in urgent family law matters before the Ontario Court of Justice. In response to Tanya Hutchens’ efforts, hundreds of battered women were able to gain custody of their children and obtain restraining orders against abusive husbands.

Apart from her career with Gold Star Legal Services, Tanya Hutchens remains dedicated to giving back to the community through charitable service. Tanya Hutchens donates generously to the MS Society of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Renascent Foundation, the SPCA of Ontario, Terry Fox, and hundreds of other charities. Furthermore, Tanya Hutchens devotes time toward community volunteer work, training women of the community in self-defense
